Comforting Duck Burgers in Napa Valley
ST. HELENA, CA—Napa Valley can quickly deplete your pocket book if you only visit the high profile players. Fortunately, there are many quality eateries in this lovely, sun-kissed Wine Country that offer both tasty home-cooking and good value (for Napa that is). If you share, then all the better!

Just one block off the main Hwy 29 is such a place and I do frequent it. From the outside, Cindy’s Backstreet Kitchen looks like a simple Euro-style café.

From its tiny courtyard to its easygoing dining room and elegant bar scene, you’ll find yourself mingling with both locals and visitors.

I’m a creature of habit and so when I find something on a menu that I like, all too often I repeat myself.

The Grilled Rare Ahi Tuna, udon noodles, nori strips, sesame seeds & miso glaze is a very good starter to share. Flavor, texture-it’s all there.

Chinatown Duck Burger, house made shiitake mushroom ketchup & French fries is always a winner. I love it. As long as you don’t eat too many fries, your tummy will thank you and you’ll sleep well at night.
But, wait. There’s more!

If you must overeat, there’s no better way to do it than with their Pineapple Upside-Down Cake. Though I couldn’t taste much pineapple, the cake was light and fluffy. Ice cream is a must… It will provide sweet dreams.
